If you are looking for some weatherproof patio furniture you could do a lot worse than thinking about getting some furniture made from aluminum. Aluminum does not rust and so will be able to withstand some of the wetter weather that we have to live through!

How about considering an umbrella with a fibre glass pole instead of a wooden one? Fibre glass patio umbrellas are more resistant to strong winds and will not deteriorate as quickly as wooden ones.

And what about materials to cover your patio furniture? If you look around you will be able to find some great materials that are solution dyed to give extra protection against the sun’s power to fade colours.

What I personally look for in my own patio furniture is how easy it is to maintain and also how well the particular material used stands up to different weather conditions. Of course with this tenet there may be a trade off in looks for many people: some prefer to have that all wood patio with all wood patio furniture, or glass top tables rather than solid top tables that use materials such as marble.

It’s down to personal preference at the end of the day. That is the great thing about patios: each one is different and each patio owner has a different view or requirement… but for my money, these more weather resistant patio furniture materials definitely merit consideration.
