Landscaping with your Kids | Making it fun

Normally landscaping is used to make a garden or front yard look more appealing, if you have kids though you will also want it to be functional and having input from the kids will make it a more succesful project all round.

To get the children involved in lanscaping the garden here are some tips or suggestions

  • You will be able to communicate how the plants are important and must be taken care of. You will be able to show them how you take care of living stuff like plants and animals in the garden, giving them responsibility and prepare them as they grow older.
  • You can allot a kids play area, make the place welcoming to the kids.
  • You may encourage the children to start a little garden all of their own. Kids can also be shown how to plant things in flowerbeds and small plant pots. When you need to do some gardening work this will then keep the kids occupied to let you get on.
  • The time involved in landscaping together will be a great family activity, some special bonding time. The kids will love the attention and will help out in watering and weeding the plants.
